A night to remember. In Brazil, it’s time for matchday 14 of the championship, and after last week’s Club World Cup, the big names in the top flight are back in action. So everyone’s thoughts are on the games back home.
And there are a couple of games that seem pretty straightforward: Palmeiras should have no trouble at home against Mirassol, while Ancelotti’s Botafogo should be able to pick up three points on home turf, giving the young Italian coach his second win in a row and his first as head coach.
It goes without saying that we are choosing two players from these two teams as our scorers. Let’s see who they are.
As for Palmeiras, the name is Mauricio, a center forward who has scored one goal in seven appearances this season. He also scored once in five appearances in the Club World Cup. Since he is someone who shoots often, we like his odds thanks to the possibility of predicting him as a plus scorer (a bet that is also valid if he hits the post). His qualities are beyond question.
A goal on his debut with the new coach. For Cabral, who has a past in Italy with Fiorentina, the goal is to continue in this vein. Botafogo should have no problems at home, as explained above. A goal from the center forward, who is in very good physical shape, is predictable.
So: Mauricio to score and Cabral to score, on GoldBet they are worth 5.74 times the stake.
Brasileirao predictions: here are the yellow cards
The match between Ceara and Corinthians will be a heated one. Depay is suspended and would certainly have given us another treat. But keep an eye on Matheuzinho among the visitors, who has picked up five yellow cards in ten games.
The match between Santos and Flamengo will also be quite heated. The home team, against the league leaders, will undoubtedly want to make a good impression. But watch out for yellow cards: the 32-year-old central midfielder Diego Pituca, with two yellow cards in eight appearances, seems almost certain to pick one up. He could suffer from Flamengo’s speed in midfield.
