Ukraine-England Euro 2024 qualifiers: free-to-air TV, lineups,

by Mark

Ukraine-England is a match valid for the fifth day of Group C of Euro 2024 qualifiers and is played on Saturday at 6 p.m.: predictions.

In the Azzurri’s group, England has taken the lead from the start and after four days is part of the small group of national teams still with full points along with France, Scotland and Portugal. Gareth Southgate’s selection now has qualification in the bag: it beat the two most insidious opponents in the group, Italy and Ukraine, and overwhelmed the less competitive ones, Malta (0-4) and North Macedonia, which was overwhelmed as much as 7-0 at Old Trafford.

Also impressive are the numbers relating to goals scored by the English: 15 scored and only one conceded (on a penalty kick). A winning streak that should not be broken even in Wroclaw, Poland, site of the return match with Ukraine. A success would allow Kane and his teammates to move significantly closer to the goal: officiating, at that point, would really be just a step away. England could then turn its attention to the friendly with Scotland scheduled for next week to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first match in history between two national teams. Interesting spectators of the challenge with the Ukrainians are the Azzurri, who now have to make the run on the selection coached since last June by former Dinamo Kiev striker Serhij Rebrov.

Ukraine is currently second and has 3 points from Italy, which, however, has played one less game due to Nations League commitments.

After the debut defeat against the British, the Rebrov management began with a double success against North Macedonia and Malta, beaten 3-2 and 1-0 respectively. In between was also a friendly match with Germany, the host of the upcoming European Championships, which ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. The technical commissioner decided not to call up Genoa’s new signing Malinovskyi, but at the same time he rejoins one of his strongest and most representative players, Arsenal fullback Zinchenko. On the other hand, there are numerous absences at home in England: Grealish and Alexander-Arnold did not make it, but Sterling, Shaw, Mount and Stones will also be missing from the roll call. Guéhi could play in the center of the defense.

The Prediction

England remains overwhelmingly favored despite the absences.Southgate is in a hurry to close the books, and with a win, qualification would be secured. Unlike the first leg, however, we expect Ukraine to manage to score at least one goal. Watch out for Bellingham as far as possible scorers are concerned: the former Borussia Dortmund man has now become an added striker in Real Madrid.
