Udinese v Bologna, Serie A: streaming, odds, predictions

by Michael

Udinese-Bologna is a Serie A Week 18 match played on Sunday at 15:00: odds, predictions, TV and streaming

The defeat at the Allianz Stadium against Juventus, which came in the final minutes of the game with the decisive goal from Brazilian defender Danilo, has only lengthened Udinese’s winless streak. And the Friulani’s first part of the championship continues to be more and more indecipherable. After the extraordinary winning streak – six in a row – between August and October, Andrea Sottil’s team can no longer win.

From the defeat in the Coppa Italia against Monza, it is as if another tournament had begun for the Bianconeri, in which Deulofeu and his team-mates seem to have returned to the “usual” ranks. Evident – and worrying – is the decline from the offensive point of view: in the last eight games Udinese have scored more than one goal only in the 3-2 defeat against Napoli and that is why Sottil said in the post-Juve interview that he wants to see more nastiness in goal from his men. And it’s not as if things are any better at the back: since mid-October, the Friulians’ clean sheets have been barely two, both coming in white-net draws against Lazio and Cremona. If three months ago it was easy to imagine Udinese fighting until the end for Europe, now the more realistic prospect is that of a decent mid-table championship.

Bologna’s comeback problem

We’ll see if the Bianconeri will be able to change pace in their home match against Bologna, an opponent with whom they have never gone beyond a draw in their last five meetings.

Another statistical curiosity of the match at the Dacia Arena concerns the points gained from disadvantage situations: Udinese are the ones who have gained the most (16), while for the Felsini instead comebacks represent a real problem, since they lost 20 points while they were on top in the score. Thiago Motta’s team came to Friuli with two defeats between Roma and Atalanta, a trend in contrast to that with which the Rossoblù had closed the first part of the tournament.

Udinese-Bologna: latest line-up news

The usual doubts for Sottil, which mainly concern the midfield. Lovric and Makengo seem to be ahead of Samardzic and Arslan respectively, for the rest the former Ascoli coach should rely on his faithful. Rebus Deulofeu, who has recovered from the injury suffered last November in Naples. The Spaniard is ready to start, but in all probability he will alternate with Success, having few minutes in his legs.

Nothing to give instead for Arnautovic: the Bologna striker should not even be in Udine and his is an absence that weighs heavy. On the other hand, Motta will recover Barrow, but the Gambian will sit on the bench. Sansone will be the Felsini’s offensive end, supported by Ferguson, Aebischer and Orsolini. Moro and Schouten will be the new midfield, a choice forced on them by the disqualification of Medel and Dominguez.

The prediction

The draw could be an option to explore this time as well, considering the two teams both need to get back to scoring points to get out of a difficult situation. Udinese in our opinion will avoid defeat in any case, within a match in which we should see at least one goal on either side.

  • UDINESE (3-5-2): Silvestri; Becao, Bijol, Perez; Pereyra, Lovric, Walace, Makengo, Udogie; Deulofeu, Beto.
  • BOLOGNA (4-2-3-1): Skorupski; Posch, Soumaoro, Lucumì, Lykogiannis; Schouten, Moro; Orsolini, Ferguson, Aebischer; Sansone.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
