Three wins out of three so far for Andrea Sottil’s Udinese, who, after a 15-0 win over Friulian amateur side Udinese, have netted five goals against Klagenfurt (Austria) and two against Pafos (Cyprus) in friendly matches during their training camp in Bad Kleinkirchheim, Austria.
The level of difficulty is destined to increase considerably in the fourth pre-season test, as on the other side of the pitch, in Linz, the bianconeri will find Leipzig, by now become a real big of the Bundesliga and a leading reality of the German football. In return, the interesting Sesko and Seiwald arrived from Salzburg’s ‘sister’ club, but the most important purchase for now remains the revelation centre forward of the last Ligue 1, Luis Openda, for whom Leipzig paid 43 million from Lens. Udinese, for its part, said goodbye to defender Becao and midfielder Pereyra, now released. The incoming operations concerned former Ajax player Lucca, full-back Zemura (former Bournemouth) and striker Brenner, who was paid 10 million to the Americans from Cincinnati. Awaiting the return of Success and Deulofeu, who are still in the infirmary, Sottil is leaning towards the starting line-up: Thauvin and Beto should play up front.

An important test for an Udinese side that did well in the first friendlies, despite heavy legs due to preparation. Leipzig are obviously of a different calibre to the Friulian side, but the Bianconeri might be able to score at least one goal against Marco Rose’s side
