Torino v Napoli, Serie A: streaming, odds, predictions

by Thorsten

Torino-Napoli is a Serie A Week 27 match played on Sunday at 15:00: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.

After the last day, Napoli’s lead over second place has returned to eighteen points. With such a gap, when there are eleven games left to the end of the championship, it seems almost impossible for the Azzurri to miss the chance of becoming champions of Italy for the first time in thirty-three years.

Luciano Spalletti, however, remains very cautious and wants his team to remain focused, on the ball, at least until the verdict of mathematics arrives. But at the same time he is aware that by defeating the Olympic Stadium in Turin, he could sew another piece of the Scudetto onto his shirt: with the exception of AC Milan, who are competing against Udinese, Inter, the partenopei’s main pursuers, will have to face Juventus in the derby of Italy, while the two Romans will take points away from each other in the derby. This means that Napoli have the chance to further increase the gap on their competitors (if one can speak of competitors). Meanwhile, during the week it was the Champions League that held sway under the Vesuvius: the Azzurri completed the task in the return leg of the round of 16 against Eintracht Frankfurt, overwhelmed 3-0 at the ‘Maradona’. Spalletti’s men, among Europe’s top eight for the first time, will play for a place in a historic semi-final in the all-Italian quarter-final with Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan.

Torino haven’t beaten the Azzurri in eight years

Against Atalanta and Eintracht Frankfurt, Napoli once again kept their goals unbeaten: the Azzurri’s defence is a real bunker and the only goal conceded in their last seven league and Champions League matches is Vecino’s goal against Lazio, one of only two defeats in 2023.

Sanabria

Sanabria

Not good news for Torino, the team who have scored the fewest goals (29) in the current Serie A top ten. On the other hand, Ivan Juric’s granata are very solid, and after the 4-2 derby win over Juventus they recorded two clean sheets in a row in their double success against Bologna and Lecce, beaten 1-0 and 2-0 respectively. Toro are growing match by match, as the Croatian coach pointed out, and are to all intents and purposes in the running for Europe, while waiting to see if Juve will be awarded the 15 penalty points for the capital gains case. Rodriguez and his teammates have one point less than the seventh-placed Bianconeri. They have not lost at home for three games and are finding the way of the goal with some consistency. To get the better of the overflowing Napoli, however, they will have to go beyond their limits: their last success against the Azzurri dates back to 2015.

Torino-Napoli: the latest lineup news

Juric without Lazaro, Zima and Vieira but with an extra Vlasic. The Croatian is in doubt but could play at least one half against Napoli. The only one sure of a place in the three-quarter is Miranchuk, while Karamoh and Radonjic are competing for the other slot. In attack there is space for Sanabria, but in defence and midfield there are many ballots: Rodriguez and Ricci should get the better of Linetty and Vojvoda respectively.

There will also be a minimum of turnover for Spalletti, who rejoins Mario Rui after his disqualification and who in midfield could give Zielinski a rest, replacing him with Elmas. The usual duel between Lozano and Politano for who will flank Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia in the trident.

The prediction

Disrupting Torino’s rock solid defence will not be easy for a Napoli side in great form but at the same time coming off a gruelling tour de force. That’s why we expect a bland first half. The match could later unlock in the second, and the total goals will in all likelihood be at least two. A victory for the Azzurri, in scintillating form, is highly probable.

The probable line-ups of Torino v Napoli
