Switzerland-Cameroon, the first match of this Thursday’s World Cup ends 1-0. Embolo’s goal at the start of the second half decides it.
On the day Shaqiri enters Swiss national team history – the former Inter player is the second to participate in four World Cups – his team gives him a huge gift. And so does he, as he was the author of the assist that allowed Embolo to break the deadlock right at the start of the second half. Switzerland beat Cameroon and, in short, put an important step towards qualification, also because the other two teams in this group are Brazil and Serbia, who will face each other this evening. The match was played at a good pace, both in the first and second half. However, it was decided by the play of the visiting team, which was able to find a good plot at the start of the second half, freeing Shaqiri on the right, who put in a cross and found his team-mate all alone at the penalty spot, forgotten by the Cameroon defence. Simple touch and the winning goal.
- Cameroon however tried to get back into the game, but failed to do so mainly because they had wet dust up front. Choupo-Moting – replaced – was the one who should have given something more.

Switzerland-Cameroon, highlights and man of the match
The images of the Switzerland-Cameroon match will be available on the RAI website in a few minutes. The public service, as we know, has the rights to all the matches of this World Cup in Qatar and in the minutes after the final match, it puts the highlights of the challenges online. Here is the link to see them.
Also, as soon as FIFA decides on the man of the match, you can find it immediately here. Although there should be very little doubt as to who it will be: usually the one who decides the match is the one who gets this prize. Except in the case of De Bruyne yesterday.
