Football predictions for 25 September, the final day of the Nations League group stage begins. In Group 1 of League A, the one that in theory should have been dominated far and wide by the reigning champions France, competing for qualification to the Finals will be Denmark and Croatia, who will play each other “at a distance”. However, it is only the Balkans who are masters of their own destiny. Thanks to their success in last Thursday’s direct clash with Denmark – goals from Sosa and Majer made Eriksen’s momentary equaliser pointless – Zlatko Dalic’s men have risen to the top. And they theoretically have an easier date than their opponents, who will face France.
Other predictions
For the selection of Ralf Rangnick, who took over last June, things are looking bad. Austria had been under the illusion that they had beaten Croatia on the first day – they finished 0-3 in Zagreb – but then came three defeats and a draw. The only way to avoid an immediate return to League B is to win again against the Croats and hope that the Bleus do not do the same in Denmark.
The two matches promising more entertainment on this Nations League Sunday, however, are Wales-Poland and Netherlands-Belgium.
