Saturday 24 September predictions: Nations League, League One and Two

by Martin

Saturday’s football predictions for 24 September: Spain and Portugal go head-to-head for qualification to the Nations League Finals. The Luis Enrique-coached national team face Switzerland at home and with three points they could either qualify directly if the Lusitanians lose in the Czech Republic at the same time, or go into the final day’s clash with two out of three results at their disposal. The most likely scenario is the latter, with Spain and Portugal both winning. In League B, Haaland’s Norway will be looking for points against bottom-of-the-table Slovenia to secure promotion, hoping for a misstep by Serbia in a difficult match against Sweden in which both sides should score at least once.

Other predictions

In Serie C, largely within reach wins for Reggiana and Catanzaro against San Donato Tavarnelle and Messina respectively. In League One, among the matches promising goals and entertainment, look out for Sheffield Wednesday-Wycombe, Shrewsbury-Burton and Barnsley-Charlton.
