Salernitana-Inter, Serie A: streaming, odds, predictions

by Sabrina

Salernitana-Inter is a Serie A Week 7 match for Saturday at 20:45: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.

Since last Wednesday, Inter are no longer on full points. After five consecutive victories, the Nerazzurri have capitulated and suffered their first defeat of the season. The Nerazzurri were tripped up by one of their renowned black beasts, Sassuolo, who only a few days earlier had also given Juventus their first disappointment. The decisive goal, needless to say, was scored by Domenico Berardi, someone who is always particularly inspired at the San Siro.

The first storm warnings, for Simone Inzaghi, had actually been there in the two previous matches, the one against Real Sociedad in the Champions League, in which Inter only managed to avoid defeat in the last minutes, and the one against Empoli. In Tuscany a narrow victory had arrived, decided by a Dimarco eurogoal, but overall that of the vice-European champions had not been a convincing performance. Since the goleada against AC Milan in the derby, in short, Inter have not been the same, and it is as if they had become a little relaxed. The coach from Piacenza will have to pick up the thread from where it was broken in the match against the Emiliani, before a new cup engagement with Benfica. In the standings, meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are no longer first alone. The pursuers have almost all won and now Lautaro Martinez and his teammates have to share the summit with their cousins Milan.

Inter are therefore called upon to prove that the one with Sassuolo was just an accident on the road against a struggling Salernitana. The granata have only three points, they are out of victories and Paulo Sousa’s bench is no longer solid. In the midweek round, the Campania team surrendered to Empoli (1-0), who had only lost in the first five rounds.

Salernitana-Inter: latest line-up news

Sousa is concerned about the condition of Candreva, who was forced off the pitch with an adductor problem against Empoli. If the former Lazio and Inter external player does not make it, the Norwegian Botheim will play in his place on the three-quarter. Dia, who is not yet at his best, will again be on the bench: the attack will be on the shoulders of Cabral, who was also among the best on the pitch in Empoli. Daniliuc returns in defence.

At the other end, Inzaghi will make several changes ahead of the match with Benfica. Lautaro could start from the bench, with Sanchez starting alongside Thuram. There will also be space for Klaassen – the Dutchman will take the place of Frattesi, who has been sidelined by a flexor problem – and Carlos Augusto, while Pavard, de Vrij and Acerbi will make up the defence.

The Prediction

Last April’s draw at the Arechi broke Inter’s long run of consecutive wins against Salernitana. However, Sousa’s team at the time was a healthy one, which often managed to hold its own against the big boys. Today, the granata are going through a complicated period and do not seem to be able to avoid defeat against an Inter team that is wounded but wants to restart immediately. We believe the Nerazzurri can score between two and four goals against a defence that has never kept its goal unbroken so far.

Salernitana-Inter’s likely line-up

  • SALERNITANA (3-4-2-1): Ochoa; Daniliuc, Gyomber, Pirola; Mazzocchi, Legowski, Martegani, Bradaric; Kastanos, Botheim; Cabral.
  • INTER (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, de Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Klaassen, Carlos Augusto; Sanchez, Thuram.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 0-2
