Romania-Kosovo is a match on the sixth day of Group I of Euro 2024 qualifiers and is played Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.: predictions.
Romania failed to take advantage of the home factor in the direct clash against Israel and early in the second half on Saturday got caught up after taking the lead in the first half hour through Alibec, a striker who grew up in Inter Milan’s youth ranks.
The Tricolorii still maintains a one-point lead over the Israelis in a fight for second place that is becoming increasingly compelling. Behind Switzerland, the big favorite to win this round, it is an absolute tussle: the Helvetians have 11 points, followed by Romania at 9 and finally Israel at 8. More distant are Belarus and Kosovo, stuck on 4 points. Out of the game only the Andorran representative, which nevertheless has not disfigured so far, scoring two points (not a few for a national team of the level of that of the Pyrenean Principality). While waiting to see how the match between Israel and Belarus will end, Romania cannot miss the match with Kosovo, an opponent within reach but always to be taken with caution. The Balkans have yet to win since qualifying began but at the same time they do not fold easily. They have collected four draws in five matches, losing only to Belarus.
Romania to consolidate second place
The men led by Edward Iordanescu last June crashed their defense (0-0), although in Pristina on Saturday, Switzerland did not go through either.
A brace by former Lazio player Muriqi enabled Kosovo to avoid defeat against the Helvetians, who came back from 0-2 down to 2-2 in a fiery finish. Also suffering from “pareggitis” is Romania, which, after a double success with Andorra and Belarus, never tasted the joy of three points again, drawing with Kosovo, Switzerland and Israel.
The Prediction
Kosovo also confirmed against Switzerland that it is a tough selection, which can count on good individuals and does not give up easily. It would not be a surprise if it again managed to avoid defeat against Romania, which slowed down after its two initial successes. A draw, by at least one goal on each side, cannot be ruled out.
