Pescara-Foggia is a match valid for the return leg of the Serie C playoff semi-finals and is played on Thursday at 20:30: tv, formations, predictions.
Four goals in total and perfect parity ahead of a return match that promises to be fierce. Those expecting a good dose of spectacle in the semi-final first leg between Foggia and Pescara – read also Delio Rossi versus Zdenek Zeman, two of the most iconic coaches in Italian football who have coached on both benches in the past – were not disappointed. The match at the ‘Zaccheria’ ended in a pyrotechnic 2-2.
Decisive will be the challenge of the “Adriatico” stadium, in which biancazzurri and rossoneri play an entire season. In the Final Four, in fact, the placing in the standings no longer counts. In the event of a tied score after the 90-minute regulation period, extra time and possibly penalties are envisaged. Pescara will therefore have the sole advantage of being able to play the return match in front of their own public. Zeman’s men had managed to overturn a Foggia side that had started strongly last Sunday, finding the 1-0 goal after just two minutes of play with Petermann. The Abruzzesi equalised midway through the first half with a penalty from Rafia, then remounted the Satanelli at the start of the second half with the usual Lescano. Former Venezia player Bjarkason, however, scored the final goal of the 2-2 that postponed everything to the return match. Pescara who, thanks to their third place in the regular season, have only played two rounds of the playoffs so far, against Virtus Verona and Entella.
Five matches, including the one against Foggia, in which the total number of goals has never been less than three. The Rossoneri, on the other hand, made their debut in the postseason almost a month ago, eliminating Potenza and Audace Cerignola and doing the feat against the better-ranked Crotone.
The Prediction
This will be an open and probably balanced match, just like the first leg. The two regular season matches, both of which were won 4-0 by the away team, do not give any points of reference either. It is likely that many goals will be seen on this occasion as well, at least three in total. Regulation time could still end in a draw.
The probable line-up of Pescara v Foggia
- PESCARA (4-3-3): Plizzari; Cancellotti, Brosco, Boben, Gozzi; Rafia, Palmiero, Kraja; Merola, Lescano, Delle Monache.
- FOGGIA (3-5-2): Dalmasso; Leo, Di Pasquale, Rizzo; Garattoni, Frigerio, Petermann, Schenetti, Costa; Ogunseye, Peralta.
POSSIBLE RESULT: 2-2
