Palermo-Como is a Serie B Week 16 match played on Thursday at 20:30: odds, predictions, live TV and streaming.
Moreno Longo’s Como still can’t seem to get off the ground, having just drawn for the third time in a row. The match in Ascoli was, to say the least, a nail-biter, with the goal of the final 3-3 of the marchigiani arriving almost at the end of the match, when the Larians were already looking forward to the return to success, which has been missing for a month: it would have been the first ever away match. After a year of settling in, the Lombard club made some important investments in the last summer market – one of which was ex-Barcelona player Fabregas – but for the moment none of the big players bought in the summer are making a difference. The short-term goal is to leave the dangerous areas of the standings as soon as possible, as Como have only 15 points and would currently play the playout with Benevento, another big disappointment.
An objective also pursued by Palermo, who in the darkest hour clung to the bomber Brunori, great protagonist of the promotion from the C to the B. The Brazilian-born scorer decided the strange challenge-salvation in Benevento (0-1) allowing Eugenio Corini to save his bench and the Rosanero to leave the red zone. The Sicilian side therefore turned over a new leaf after consecutive defeats to Cosenza and Venezia.
Palermo-Como: latest line-up news
Corini seems to have clear ideas, who will face Como with a 4-3-3: in the attacking trident will act, besides Brunori, also Valente and Di Mariano. A ballot in defence between Marconi and Bettella, with the former slightly favoured. The latter trained separately along with Mateju and Lancini. Longo will have to do without Fabregas: the Spaniard won’t be back until 2023.
The prediction
Based on Como’s disastrous away performance, we imagine that Palermo will manage, albeit with some difficulty, to pick up at least a point in what looks to all intents and purposes like a salvation clash, despite the ambitions of both properties. The total number of goals could be at least three on the night at the ‘Barbera’.
