Manchester United-Fulham is an FA Cup quarter-final match to be played on Saturday at 6:45pm: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.
A piece of silverware already shines on the trophy cabinet. But more could be added very soon, given Manchester United’s commitment to the cups. Erik ten Hag, after allowing the Red Devils to lift a trophy six years after the last time, wants to try again with the other domestic cup: the FA Cup. His men are still in the running on all four fronts and have reached the quarter-finals in the second most important domestic event.
Not forgetting the Europa League, where United snatched a ticket to the quarter-finals this week. Having cleared the Betis file without too much difficulty (4-1 in the first leg and 0-1 in the return), Bruno Fernandes and his team-mates will face the city’s other team, Sevilla, who have won six Europa League titles in the last 20 years. If they make it to the semifinals, the Red Devils will face one of Juventus or Sporting. In the Premier League, on the other hand, Manchester United are in third place, coming from a disappointing draw with Southampton, which has allowed their pursuers to nibble away more points. Tottenham are hot on their heels, but Liverpool have now made a comeback.
In the league it ended 2-1 to United
This weekend, however, the Dutch coach’s only thoughts will be the FA Cup and Fulham, an opponent who are certainly fearsome but were already beaten in the league last November at Craven Cottage (1-2 for United).
Marco Silva’s Bianconeri are one of the biggest surprises of this Premier League and with two months to go they are still in the running for a place in Europe. They are currently ninth and in the last few days they have lost a few positions following two consecutive defeats in the London derbies against Brentford and Arsenal: the series of games without victories has lengthened to three. In the FA Cup, however, they won 2-0 over Leeds, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in thirteen years. Silva got back the precious Palhinha after being suspended, while ten Hag had to do without Casemiro, Garnacho, van de Beek, Eriksen and probably Antony, who is not 100%.
The prediction
Manchester United may be feeling the fatigue – they have been playing once every three days since January – which is why in our opinion it will be a more open match than expected. The Red Devils are favourites for qualification, but it cannot be ruled out that Fulham will score at least one goal at Old Trafford.
