Kazakhstan-Denmark is a match on the second day of Euro 2024 qualifying Group H and is played on Sunday at 15:00: predictions.
Denmark got their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign off on the right foot by disposing of Finland, their most credible rival for first place.
The all-Scandinavian challenge on Thursday ended in a 3-1 victory for the selection coached by Kasper Hjulmand, who thus managed to exorcise the last, terrible precedent with the Finns, played right on the turf of Copenhagen’s Parken: the famous match of the group stage of Euro 2020, which saw Finland’s success against a Denmark still in shock for the illness of its captain Eriksen. Without the former Inter player, now struggling with a muscular injury, the star shone on Hojlund, a young striker owned by Atalanta who has also shown himself in recent months with Gasperini’s Dea, to the point of becoming an irreplaceable starter. The Nerazzurri striker was the star of the evening, scoring a hat-trick and taking the ball home, as he usually does after such a performance.
Disappointing debut for Kazakhstan
Denmark needed to turn over a new leaf after a hugely disappointing World Cup, in which they narrowly missed out on qualification to the knockout stages, failing to win a single match against Tunisia, France and Australia.
Hjulmand and his men are proving impeccable in the qualifying matches: here the Danes have won nine of their last ten matches, conceding only three goals. Three more points should also come in the away match in Astana against Kazakhstan, who were defeated on the first day by Slovenia. Magomed Adiev’s men held out for the entire first half, which ended in the lead thanks to Samorodov’s goal, but in the second half they suffered a comeback by the Slovenians (1-2), resulting in a defeat that could prove painful. It was a step backwards for a selection that did very well in the last Nations League, winning their first promotion to League B.
The Prediction
Hjulmand against Finland lost two important pieces in defence, Christensen and Andersen, who were both unavailable in Kazakhstan. Nonetheless, Denmark have shown that they have swallowed the bitter pill of World Cup elimination and should not slip up against one of the most affordable teams in the group. Likely to score at least three goals overall in the Astana match.
