Karlsruhe-Liverpool is a friendly and is played on Wednesday at 6:30pm: news, stats, formations, predictions, live TV and streaming
Jurgen Klopp, in his eighth year on the Liverpool bench, will be looking to build on the sparkling finish of the last Premier League. A final in which his Reds found, once their backs were against the wall, the continuity of performance they had never had in the previous months and which almost allowed them to regain a place in the Champions League.
No cup with big ears this year for Salah and his team-mates, who, despite their comeback, had to settle for a disappointing fifth place. Finishing in the top four is therefore Liverpool’s main goal for the 2023-24 season, in which Klopp and his men will also be involved in the Europa League. These days the Reds are in Germany, in Baden-Wurttemberg, the site of their pre-season training camp. The new Premier League will start on 13 August and on the first day there is a direct clash between two disappointments of the last championship with Chelsea. Klopp wants to arrive there ready and, after a week of hard work on the pitch, Liverpool will face Karlsruhe, a team participating in the Zweite Bundesliga, the German Serie B, in a friendly. The league opens at the end of July, which is why the Reds will face a team that already has several minutes in their legs, having played six friendlies since the end of June.
Not leaving for Germany is midfielder Fabinho, who has agreed a deal with Al-Ittihad, the club that has already signed Benzema and Kanté, and is expected to move to Saudi Arabia soon as well. The two new signings Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, who arrived from Brighton and Leipzig respectively, will almost certainly make their debut from the 1′.
The Prediction
Karlsruhe have scored goals in bunches in the summer friendlies played so far, in which the only defeat came against a superior team such as Viktoria Plzen. We expect a wide success from Liverpool, in a match with more than three goals in total.
