Juventus v Torino, Serie A: streaming, odds, predictions

Juventus-Torino is a Serie A Week 24 match to be played on Tuesday at 20:45: odds, predictions, TV and streaming

It is very rare to see a derby della Mole with Juventus and Torino both outside the top seven of the Serie A table. And especially in a month that could be described as crucial for the fate of the championship as February.

But the 15-point penalty inflicted on the Bianconeri a month ago by the sporting justice for the capital gains case has upset everything and today Massimiliano Allegri’s team find themselves in eighth place, below Bologna – on Sunday the red and blue team overtook them by beating Inter – and a long way from the Champions League zone, with just one point more than their cousins, the Granata. The coach from Livorno, presenting the extra-cittadina at the Stadium, said that, net of penalties, his men must not lose the certainties acquired in the last few matches, remaining aware that the points scored so far are 47 and not 32. An attempt to spur them on psychologically and get them over the ‘blow’ of the penalty. And judging by the results, Allegri is succeeding in his aim: after the defeat against Monza, Juventus have strung together three consecutive victories against Salernitana, Fiorentina and Spezia without conceding a single goal and passing the round in both the Coppa Italia and the Europa League. If the Bianconeri made it to the round of 16 in the second continental competition, it is mainly due to a monstrous performance by Angel Di Maria, who, with a fantastic hat-trick, snuffed out any hopes of the French Nantes team.

Toro haven’t won at home to Juve since ’95

Despite a troubled season to say the least, Juventus are more alive than ever and in derby number 156 in Serie A, they will try to nibble further points off fourth place. On the other side, Ivan Juric’s Granata will try to reverse a trend that sees them almost always succumb every time they meet the Signora.

Torino have only come out on top on one occasion against the Bianconeri in the last 33 previous fixtures played in the top flight. And they have not won at Juve’s home since 1995. The feat, however, is not impossible. Rodriguez and his teammates, although strongly discontinuous, are doing a good championship and are still in the race for the seventh place that could guarantee access to the Conference League. We have to understand which Toro will take the field. Whether it will be the very solid one of the recent victories against Fiorentina and Udinese, or the one that was too reluctant at San Siro (1-0 against Milan) and excessively wasteful in the home match against the bottom of the table Cremonese (2-2).

Juventus-Torino: latest line-up news

Juventus have realised they cannot do without the immense quality of Di Maria, the man of providence in recent matches. And not only for the goals. The Argentine will once again inspire the Bianconeri striker: in the Europa League it was Kean’s turn, this time Vlahovic will start. In the middle of the field Paredes will be back, called into action due to Locatelli’s disqualification. The coach will also give some minutes to the returning Chiesa. At the back, there will be space for the three Brazilians (Danilo, Bremer and Alex Sandro), while on the right lane there is a tight battle between Cuadrado and De Sciglio.

On the other side, Juric must do without the disqualified Ola Aina and does not yet know if he will be able to count on Ricci and his geometries in midfield. On the right is Singo, while in the middle will be Linetty to flank Ilic. Vlasic will not recover: behind Sanabria will act Miranchuk and Karamoh, the latter ahead of Radonjic. Rodriguez is out in defence.

The prediction

The script shouldn’t be dissimilar to recent past matches: very close games and almost all low-scoring. And with Juventus winning: the last granata success against the bianconeri dates back to 2015 and Juric’s team, despite the progress made in the last period, doesn’t seem to be able to worry much about a determined Lady, who is so hungry for points and can’t afford any more missteps if they want to try and reach the Champions League. The possibility of Torino running out of goals cannot be ruled out.

The Juventus-Torino likely line-up

  • JUVENTUS (3-5-2): Szczesny; Danilo, Bremer, Alex Sandro; Cuadrado, Fagioli, Paredes, Rabiot, Kostic; Di Maria, Vlahovic.
  • TORINO (3-4-2-1): Milinkovic-Savic; Djidji, Schuurs, Buongiorno; Singo, Ilic, Linetty, Vojvoda; Miranchuk, Karamoh; Sanabria.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-0
