Juventus-Milan, Serie A: streaming, bets, predictions

by Michael

Juventus-Milan is a Serie A Week 37 match to be played on Sunday at 20:45: fixtures, predictions, TV and streaming.

The new penalty imposed on Juventus for the capital gains case has rewritten the Serie A standings when there are only two days left to play.

The Bianconeri suddenly found themselves in seventh place on Monday, despite the ‘discount’ of five points compared to the previous penalty: the FIGC Court of Appeal’s ruling has in fact established that it is no longer 15 but 10. The difference, however, remains minimal. Massimiliano Allegri’s team is now at 59 points, a good five lengths away from fourth place, the last place needed to play in next year’s Champions League, occupied by Milan. And the Rossoneri only needed to avoid defeat in the Allianz Stadium clash to definitively oust Juventus from the race for fourth place. In fact, the Old Lady would have had a better chance if they had not crashed out at Empoli, suffering one of the most humiliating defeats (4-1) ever. In Tuscany, against a team already certain of safety, perhaps the ugliest Juve of the season was staged, probably psychologically conditioned by the ruling, the news of which came during the warm-up of the players.

Milan one step away from goal

The Bianconeri’s hopes are now slim. Ahead of them are Atalanta and Roma, although Stefano Pioli’s men have to run the race

Juventus must win their next two games against AC Milan and Udinese and hope the former Italian champions lose their last one. And that’s not all: they will have to prevail over AC Milan by at least two goals, ‘equalling’ the goals conceded in the first leg by Hernandez and his team-mates (2-0) in the event of a tie: in the event of a tie in the direct clashes, in fact, the goal difference comes into play. A feat, in short, almost on the edge of the possible. Which, frankly speaking, this Juventus, grappling with the well-known off-field problems, does not seem able to achieve. The coach from Livorno, more and more on the gridiron after the goleada suffered at the ‘Castellani’ against Paolo Zanetti’s Azzurri, said it clearly in front of the television cameras, talking about an ‘oozing’. On the other hand, Milan have benefited from the Bianconeri’s troubles, and are now masters of their own destiny: in the case of a victory in Turin against Juve, the Rossoneri would write the end of the Champions League fight, making themselves unreachable even for Atalanta, with whom they have the direct clashes in their favour. Pioli’s team, meanwhile, reacted immediately after their Champions League disappointment with Inter and did so by beating relegated Sampdoria 5-1 at the San Siro.

Juventus-Milan: latest line-up news

Pogba, De Sciglio and Fagioli have finished their seasons and will not be available for Milan. Vlahovic, who is struggling with a sartorius tendon strain, will also most likely be absent. Milik and Di Maria should therefore play in attack. Chiesa and Kean will be on the bench. Danilo is back in defence: the Brazilian will play alongside Bremer and Gatti. A ballot on the left flank between Kostic and Iling-Junior.

Bennacer and Ibrahimovic are absent in Milan, but Pioli will send the starters onto the pitch. The usual doubt in defence between Kjaer and Thiaw, the other duel is between Saelemaekers and Messias on the right

The prediction

A.C. Milan are unbeaten in their last four clashes with Juventus, although in the last 10 the balance remains perfectly even. Looking at the record, the number of goals scored stands out: eight times in the last 12 meetings between the Bianconeri and Rossoneri the total number of goals scored has been less than three. This could also be an unproductive match, as the Bianconeri always struggle offensively. It cannot be ruled out that Milan will manage to avoid defeat, thus ‘condemning’ Juve to playing in a lesser cup.

The probable line-ups of Juventus-Milan

  • JUVENTUS (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Cuadrado, Miretti, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic; Di Maria, Milik.
  • MILAN (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Hernandez; Tonali, Krunic; Messias, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
