Inter-Roma is a match of the tenth day of Serie A and is played on Sunday at 6 p.m.: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.
The challenge between Inter and Roma, for a couple of seasons now the “match” par excellence of Jose Mourinho, a coach who has left indelible traces on the Nerazzurri bench and who is trying to do the same on the Giallorossi’s, from this year is enriched with new and interesting points of interest.
The scene, this time, will be taken by another former, Romelu Lukaku, who broke with the Milanese club in the summer and then decided to embark on a new professional adventure in the capital just in the last days of the market. Inter fans have not yet metabolized the incident and are preparing to welcome the Belgian center forward with a broadside of whistles: they have already purchased more than 50 thousand whistles to “welcome” (or welcome back, to be exact) the “traitor.” Lukaku, meanwhile, is dragging Roma down with goals. Last Thursday he again punched his ticket in the Europa League against Czech side Slavia Prague, scoring the 2-0 goal. Since landing on the Giallorossi side of the Tiber he boasts an average of one goal every 97 minutes. Impressive impact.
Timid signs of recovery from Mourinho’s men – who will not be on the bench because he is disqualified – with his Roma side winning their last four games between cup and league, putting back on track a season that had started badly. Inter, however, is the first real test after a series of match-worthy games. Simone Inzaghi’s team has just returned to the top of the standings thanks to a roundabout success with Torino (0-3) and again bypassed AC Milan, defeated at the San Siro by Juventus. The Nerazzurri also continued to win in the Champions League: their victory with Salzburg (2-1) allowed them to mortgage the round of 16.
Inter-Roma: the latest news on the lineups
Inzaghi is expected to change a few pieces compared to the Champions League match with the Austrians: Thuram will return to play from 1′, as will Acerbi and Dimarco. In defense it is a ballot between Darmian and Pavard, while in midfield both Frattesi and Barella will find a place. Out are Arnautovic and Cuadrado.
Mourinho without Dybala, Abraham, Pellegrini and Kumbulla, will trust the attacking pair of Lukaku and Belotti in attack, with El Shaarawy ready to help from the bench. On the right, the Portuguese coach’s choice will fall to Kristensen, while in the middle it will be the turn of Paredes, Cristante and Aouar.
The prediction
Inter so far better away than at home, Roma on the other hand suffers particularly away from the Olimpico. It’s a test-truth for the Giallorossi, who in any case don’t seem to be able to pull off the upset in Milan against a very solid Inter side, which so far has only missed two games in the league (Sassuolo and Bologna). Finally, a prolific match is to be expected: nerazzurri and giallorossi boast the best attacks in the tournament with 24 and 20 goals scored.
The probable lineups of Inter-Roma
- INTER (3-5-2): Sommer; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Frattesi, Calhanoglu, Barella, Dimarco; Lautaro Martinez, Thuram.
- ROMA (3-5-2): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Llorente, N’Dicka; Kristensen, Cristante, Paredes, Aouar, Spinazzola; Lukaku, Belotti.
