Inter-Parma is a match valid for the round of 16 of the Italian Cup and it is played on Tuesday at 21:00: likely formations, predictions, tv and streaming.
The Coppa Italia starts again from the round of 16, the round that usually begins to generate a certain amount of interest because it is from this moment on that the big names in the Italian league come into play.
To open the programme is the San Siro clash between title holders Inter Milan – last May the Nerazzurri defeated Juventus 4-2 in the final at the Stadio Olimpico after extra time – and Parma, one of the two Serie A sides (the other being Genoa, who are set to take on Roma) who have made it through to the round of 16. The winner will face one of Atalanta or Spezia. Simone Inzaghi’s team will take advantage of this to return to victory immediately after the false step in Monza that risked definitively ousting Skriniar and his companions from the fight for the Scudetto. Inter had made a great start to 2023, inflicting their first defeat of the season on the unstoppable Napoli, but were caught up at the end of the match by the Brianza team (2-2) at the end of a match that was also conditioned by the refereeing controversy due to the goal cancelled out to Acerbi. The draw at the U-Power Stadium sends the Nerazzurri to -10 from the top, distant again after Napoli’s victory in Genoa.
Inzaghi without Lukaku and Brozovic
The coach from Piacenza will play several second-liners, having to cope with the excellent injuries of Romelu Lukaku, who stopped again in Monza, and director Brozovic, absent in the first two official outings. Make way therefore for Bellanova, Asllani and Correa.
Inter will face a team that has not taken the field since 26 December. Fabio Pecchia’s team had closed the calendar year with a draw (2-2) at home to Venezia: despite being one of the best equipped for direct promotion, they are momentarily -9 from second place, paying for too many fluctuating results that are causing the coach’s bench to waver
The prediction
Inter are the clear favourites for this match: Inzaghi, after all, has never snubbed the Coppa Italia and will not do so now, as he is also called upon to defend the title. In spite of an ‘unusual’ formation, the Nerazzurri have everything they need to close out the match in the 90 minutes against a Parma side that might nevertheless manage to score at least one goal. Inter’s defence this year is far from airtight and in attack the Ducali have quality players capable of creating some danger.
