It’s now a tradition. Since 2018 it has been Lugano who raise the curtain on Inter’s season. Usually the friendly is staged in Cornaredo, Switzerland, but this time the location changes, due to the works that are affecting the Ticino club’s facility.
The match, which will be played behind closed doors, is scheduled at the Pinetina in Appiano Gentile, the Nerazzurri’s sports centre. Simone Inzaghi will send out an experimental formation, with the aim of getting as many minutes as possible for the new arrivals, including Frattesi, Thuram and Bisseck. One of the few starters will be Lautaro Martinez, who will be joined in attack by compatriot Correa. The coach is waiting for news from a market that is bringing numerous surprises every day. The latest concerns Juan Cuadrado: the former Juventus outfielder has just signed a one-year deal and could be available to the Piacenza coach in the next few days.
Now Inzaghi is waiting for a striker, after the resounding flop of the negotiation with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku, who will most likely end up at Juventus.
Croci-Torti, Lugano coach
In the midfield there is no longer Brozovic, sold to the Arabs of Al-Nassr (Inter will soon find him again in the friendly in Japan) and the addition of only Frattesi, arrived from Sassuolo, is certainly not enough. Lugano, unlike the Nerazzurri, have already played several friendlies, collecting two victories and a draw. Surprising is the number of goals realised in these three games by the Lugano coached by Mattia Croci-Torti, a total of nine.
