At TVPLAY, Libero journalist Fabrizio Biasin tried to shed light on Inter’s football market situation, focusing on the names of Smalling and Dumfries.
According to the latest rumours, Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries could soon leave Inter Milan, in the face of concrete interest from Chelsea, Tottenham and other Premier League teams. Some market experts have him leaving as early as January.
After two assists and a goal in the last World Cup match (Netherlands-USA), Inter full-back Danzel Dumfries is undoubtedly one of the hot names in the football market. But could Inter really let him leave as early as January? And for how much? Fabrizio Biasin, one of the most influential sports journalists when it comes to the Nerazzurri club, is not so sure that Dumfries could be sold.
Biasin also spoke about the future of Milan Skriniar and the Smalling option. On the Slovakian, Biasin is convinced that Inter are ready to take an aut-aut: either the player renews by Christmas or the managers will start sounding out new names. The option most within reach should be to invest in 33-year-old Christopher Lloyd Smalling.
And then there is the Dumfries chapter. “PSG paid Hakimi seventy million. Dumfries was paid much less and is now worth sixty,” Biasin told the microphones of calciomercato.it during a broadcast on the Twitch TVPLAY channel. “Without an offer like that he stays at Inter and forget about any talk of a January transfer, it’s a talk at most for June. “
Inter: incoming football and the future of Dumfries
So Inter would have no intention, according to Biasin, of depriving themselves of Dumfries unless an offer lived up to expectations, i.e. over €50 million. On Skriniar’s renewal, however, there would be optimism. ‘Optimism is linked to the fact that there is a negotiation,’ said the journalist. “Then you have to find the balance between supply and demand. Inter are talking about Christmas because you cannot go beyond that. Beyond Christmas, in case, Inter will reason about new players to bring in from next season.’
However, Biasin feels he can rule out a departure of Skriniar in January: ‘He will finish his season at Inter and the renewal must arrive by Christmas. This is the deadline Inter have set themselves. “
Finally, the Libero journalist admitted that there would be contact between Inter and Smalling, currently at Roma. “However, right now Ausilio is talking to something like two thousand defenders,” he pointed out during the broadcast. ‘However, it wouldn’t be the first time Inter have made a swoop for Smalling, they make one a year, usually between December and January’. And here the journalist cited cases from past years: De Vrij, Eriksen, Onana and Mkhitaryan.
