Genoa’s purgatory lasted only a season. The Rossoblù regained the A after the bitter relegation two seasons ago. The change in the bench was decisive: it was newcomer Alberto Gilardino, who took over at mid-season from the exonerated Blessin, who turned around a team that had nothing to envy in terms of quality and experience in the squad in the last Serie B.

Gilardino and his team have already taken the field, scoring 12 goals against Fassa Calcio, and are preparing to face the Austrian Wsg Tirol in the Moena retreat. In Austria, the dances will open much earlier than in Serie A: the league debut is set for 29 July, while at the weekend the Tyrolean team will debut in the national cup against Sedda Bad Schallerbach. The friendly match between Genoa and WSG Tirol is scheduled for Tuesday at 17:00 at the “Benatti” sports centre in Moena, the red and blue team’s training camp, and will be streamed live on DAZN. The Prediction
First level test for Alberto Gilardino’s Genoa, who will host Fiorentina at the Marassi in the league opener.
