Friday 28 July predictions: The German cadet league kicks off with the big match between Hamburg and Schalke 04. Psg and Torino are also on the pitch
This weekend the Zweite Liga (or Bundesliga 2), the German equivalent of our Serie B, starts again. Among the protagonists this year is Schalke 04, who have been relegated for the second time in the last three seasons. The club from Gelsenkirchen is undoubtedly one of the candidates for direct promotion, together with the emblazoned Hertha Berlin and Hamburg.
As per tradition, it starts with a big match: Schalke will visit Hamburg, who last year were blatantly mocked in the final minutes of the last day and forced to play in the promotion/relegation play-off, then lost to Stuttgart. Both did not shine at all in the pre-season friendlies, especially in the non-possession phase of the ball: goals, either side, are likely to be seen in abundance. In the evening there are also the first matches of the last day of the Argentine Liga: Talleres, second in the standings, should avoid defeat on the field of Newell’s, while balance (and few goals) is expected in the challenge between Argentinos Juniors and Estudiantes.
Other match predictions
Among today’s friendlies is that of Psg, who after a blank draw with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, face Cerezo Osaka on their Japanese tour: this time there should be no shortage of goals. Ivan Juric’s Torino are also on the pitch: the granata have already beaten Feralpisalò 2-0 and want to repeat against Modena.
