France-Australia, here are the report cards of the match between Deschamps’ national team, valid for Group D.
After a somewhat muted start, coinciding with Goodwin’s goal, France managed to impose themselves rather easily on Australia. The Galletti ended the contest 4-1, thanks to a deluxe Giroud. There was a lot of Serie A in the opening win for Deschamps’ men: Adrien Rabiot had momentarily levelled the scores.
The Juventus-owned midfielder was one of the best on the pitch, giving balance and geometry to the Gallettos’ tactical chessboard. But that’s not all. Rabiot’s projections in the offensive zone contributed to irreversibly stretching Australia, who struggled to contain the transalpine’s breakthroughs as the minutes passed. A run by the former Psg player gave France the lead, with Giroud in a state of grace. The AC Milan striker gives depth, brings the team up and always offers an outlet for the French attack with class and vision. Usual Mbappé: pure class and talent, even if the Psg striker devours easy chances for a player of the Frenchman’s quality.
