Foggia v Catanzaro again, just a few days after the Coppa Italia Serie C clash which saw Fabio Gallo’s Satanelli surprisingly triumph 2-0. In the last 20 minutes first Ogunseye on a penalty kick and then D’Ursi in the second half castigated the Giallorossi, who appeared at the “Zaccheria” with an eleven stuffed with reserves, giving as it should be priority to a championship they are literally dominating. In the postponement Vincenzo Vivarini’s Eagles have the chance to further widen the gap from the pursuers, taking advantage of the ‘gift’ of Crotone, which was stopped by surprise yesterday by Gelbison. In case of victory, which would be the seventh consecutive in the championship, Catanzaro would fly at +8 from the Pythagoreans, the only ones who are somehow trying to keep their fast pace. Iemmello and his team-mates are a war machine and at the moment they seem to have no rivals. On Sunday they crushed Virtus Francavilla 4-1, while in the previous three matches they had crushed Gelbison, Pescara and Giugliano, all of whom they overwhelmed with the same result: 3-0.
At the other end, Foggia will attempt to replicate the cup feat, although with starters on the pitch it will be different. Only one victory in the last four matches for the rossoneri, who have recovered following the arrival of the coach from Bollate. The Apulians have moved away from the playout zone and now sit in mid-table. Gallo is looking for the continuity that is lacking in order to make the leap in quality: after the narrow victory over Messina came the false step in Giugliano in the 3-2 loss in Campania. The Lombard coach will line up one of D’Ursi and Ogunseye in attack, while in defence there is Petermann despite a micro-fracture in his nose. In Catanzaro there is the heavy absence of Situm: in his place, on the right flank, Tentardini is ready.
The Prediction
The victory this time should not escape Catanzaro, who will appear with their star players with the aim of further consolidating their lead and taking advantage of Crotone’s slowdown. A Giallorossi success is highly probable in a match in which both teams should score at least one goal each.
