The World Cup in Qatar began yesterday with Ecuador’s victory over the hosts. But there was no shortage of controversy in the run-up to and even before England v Iran: first there was the question of the captain’s armband. Some wanted to wear the rainbow one but then gave up because, in the meantime, the caution notice arrived in case they did. And then there was also Iran who did not sing the national anthem in protest against the government. In short, there was no shortage of issues and there will be no shortage of issues in the coming days either.
And in all this, not to be missed, came the striptease done by an England fan. A video posted on social media mainly sent Twitter into a tizzy, and here too there was no shortage of controversy. Not so much for the gesture – such things were often seen during the World Cup – but for the fact that many do not believe the video is from now

Well, the English fan immortalised in the video goes down the escalator probably of an underground and at a certain point, ‘pushed’ by her friends, she lifts her shirt and remains topless. An unusual gesture if we think that we are in Qatar, which is why on social media many believe that video to be old.
In other words, controversy for this reason too. And come to think of it, those who believe this are probably also right. The controls are very tight and we don’t believe that anyone wants to risk prison for such a gesture.
