This week, Kjetil Knudsen’s men crushed Czech side Bohemians 3-0 to secure qualification for the third preliminary round of the international competition, which began two years ago and saw them reach the quarter-finals in the first edition. A match, that of last Thursday, practically without history. In which the difference was also the different athletic condition between a team that has not stopped for months and another that played its first league match only seven days ago. The resounding victory in the cup allows the Gialloneri to focus entirely on the Eliteserien challenge, without being distracted by the return match. After sixteen days, Bodo/Glimt is first, nine points ahead of the second. At home, Pellegrino and his teammates are still unbeaten (six wins and two draws) and have won three rounds uninterruptedly. They could put another brick towards the title against Tromso, currently the third force in the tournament. Among the strengths of Gaute Helstrup’s team is their defence, the least perforated along with that of Bodo. The hosts are favourites, but fatigue from the cup game may have an impact, so we don’t expect many goals.
Eliteserien, predictions for other matches
Stromsgodset visit the disastrous Aalesund, last in the standings with 7 points from 16 matches and, in fact, a prime candidate for relegation.

Christian Johnsen’s men’s defence is treading water – eleven goals conceded in the last three matches – and the visitors could take advantage of this. Lillestrom are also in with a chance: despite the loss to Haugesund, which ended a three-game winning streak, they are clear favourites over HamKam, who are limping away. Rosenborg, like Bodo/Glimt, were busy in the Conference League this week, drawing 2-2 with the Crusaders. On the whole, they appear to be on the upswing and should record another positive result against Odd, in a match with at least one goal each. There should also be no shortage of excitement in Sarpsborg and Haugesund. Brann and Viking, the big match of the day, will also find their way to goal, and a draw cannot be ruled out.
