Cremonese-Juventus, Serie A: streaming, odds, predictions

by Michael

Cremonese-Juventus is a match of the sixteenth day of Serie A and is played on Wednesday at 18:30: likely formations, predictions, TV and streaming.

Juventus are back on the road in Cremona, where they made a vigorous comeback between October and November, climbing from position to position and getting back into the top four. There is no doubt that a month and a half ago, before everything came to a halt for Qatar 2022, Massimiliano Allegri’s side were the most in-form team in Serie A, along with Napoli in first place.

The Giallorossi’s last league defeat came on 8 October, when a 2-0 loss at the San Siro to AC Milan seemed to put a damper on their hopes of getting back into the Scudetto race. Since then Bonucci and his team-mates have not stopped, racking up six consecutive victories. And all of them always keeping their goal unbeaten, a new-found solidity that is undoubtedly the basic ingredient of this cavalcade, within which Allegri managed to get the better of the two direct clashes with Inter and Lazio, beaten respectively 2-0 and 3-0 in front of their own public. Juventus are now third, two points behind Italian champions AC Milan and -10 behind Napoli, but no one, not even Luciano Spalletti’s Azzurri, who are dominating the tournament, have conceded fewer goals than the Bianconeri, who can count on a defence that has been pierced only seven times in 15 games.

First match of the post-Agnelli era

Even in friendly matches Juve proved their imperviousness, conceding just one goal in the tests against Arsenal, Rijeka and Standard Liege, matches in which the Livorno coach wanted to give space to other youngsters, in an attempt to scout new Fagioli and Miretti.

The away match in Lombardy will be the first of a new era, considering that Andrea Agnelli’s era ended after more than a decade following his thunderous resignation on 28 November last, announced together with the entire board of directors. Cremonese, on the other hand, are the only team not to have won yet, collecting 7 draws and 8 defeats so far. After stopping AC Milan at 0-0 – the third consecutive draw – the grigiorossi closed the first part of the season with a 2-0 defeat in Empoli, which further complicated the classification of Massimiliano Alvini’s men, now -6 from the fourth-last place. In their last four matches Cremonese have scored just two goals

Cremonese-Juventus: latest line-up news

Alvini chooses a very buttoned-up 3-5-2, with the stated aim of closing every space to Juventus. New signing Ferrari should make his debut in defence, ready to flank Hendry and Lochoshvili. The midfield line instead will be formed by three men of substance like Meité, Ascacibar and Pickel, with Sernicola and Valeri on the flanks. In attack, the duo of Okereke and Dessers will continue to be trusted.

Having just returned from Argentina, Di Maria is again out. The world champion, a great protagonist in Qatar, suffered a knock in training and will not be in Cremona. The list of unavailable players is long for Allegri: from Vlahovic to Bonucci, passing through Pogba, Cuadrado and De Sciglio. Paredes, who has also just returned from South America, is unlikely to be used. In goal will go Szczesny, in midfield instead there will be space for McKennie, despite the market rumours. Allegri should reserve a few minutes for the convalescent Chiesa. Finally, it will be up to Milik and Kean to form the attack tandem.

The prediction

There are few unknowns about Juventus’ form, but they should extend their winning streak against a Cremonese side who are likely to give them a run for their money. It cannot be ruled out that the Bianconeri will continue to keep their goal unbeaten.
