Como-Reggina is a Serie B Week 17 match to be played on Sunday at 15:00: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.
A rude awakening for the ambitious Reggina team coached by Pippo Inzaghi in the midweek big match against the leading Frosinone. There was practically no history in the awaited duel between the first and the second force of the cadet championship: the 0-3 without appeal (Mulattieri, Insigne, Szyminski) of the “Granillo” launches Fabio Grosso’s ciociari into orbit and in some ways resizes the amaranth formation, which has returned to lose after a month and a half. And now they must watch their backs against Bari and Genoa, who after their victories against Cittadella and Sudtirol respectively have moved back to within -3 of the Calabrians. Inzaghi, however, does not despair: his Reggina are still in the running for promotion, they are playing a tournament above expectations, they boast the best attack in the cadetteria (28 goals) and they have everything they need to pick themselves up immediately and turn the page, looking for what would be their third consecutive success away from their own public.
An away trip that could conceal a few pitfalls is Como, who have had five positive results (one win and four draws). Moreno Longo’s team was built to fight for ambitious goals, but they are unable to find the continuity to make a big leap in the standings and at least get closer to the playoff zone. The 0-0 draw in Palermo is not a bad result as it turned out, but the Larians remain third-bottom, struggling with a defence that offers no guarantees and is the best beaten in the league.
Como-Reggina: latest line-up news
Da Riva
Longo will change practically nothing from last Thursday’s match in Palermo. In the offensive trident Cerri, Cutrone and Mancuso will be back, while the two central defenders will be Binks and Odenthal. Absent is Fabregas, who will only return in 2023, but Baselli, Chajia, Iovine, Kerrigan and Solini are also unavailable. On the other side, Inzaghi ponders giving Fabbian a rest: Crisetig is favoured over the Inter-owned talent. Up front Cicerelli should get the better of Rivas.
The prediction
Reggina’s attack, after running out of steam against Frosinone, should immediately come unstuck against what is the worst defence in Serie B. In any case, we don’t think the Amaranth victory is so obvious: Como have recently stopped Genoa and Bari and will be careful against the Calabrians as well, who remain slight favourites for the three points in a match with at least three goals overall.
