Brasileirao 2022, on a pulse-pounding final day the last slots to qualify for the next Libertadores are up for grabs.
The World Cup is just around the corner: the dances open in Qatar on Sunday. And, like all major football leagues, the Brasilerao 2022 is drawing to a close to make way for the eagerly awaited World Cup. The last day of Brazil’s top championship is scheduled for this evening at 20:00 (Italian time). All matches will be played at the same time, with the exception of the match between Flamengo and Avaí, which took place on Saturday and saw the recent Copa Libertadores champions, now visibly satisfied after their long ride in South America’s most important competition, lose 2-1. But what remains to be defined? Yes, because the title has been won by Palmeiras with great anticipation and several teams have already snatched the pass for the next edition of the Copa Libertadores.
The last few places for qualification to the most prestigious cup are still up for grabs: the sixth gives direct access to the group stage, while the seventh and eighth are worth the preliminaries. Finally, there are two contenders for the last place in the next Copa Sudamericana, the equivalent of our Europa League.

The situation is almost as follows. In addition to the champion Palmeiras, Internacional, Corinthians, Fluminense and Flamengo are already in the Libertadores rounds. The latter, having already qualified as defending champions, meant that there were eight useful places and no longer just six. The teams aspiring for one of the three spots are Athletico Paranaense, Atletico MG, Botafogo, America MG, Fortaleza and Sao Paulo. All eyes are on the heart-stopping challenge between Athletico Paranaense, momentarily sixth and master of their own destiny, and Botafogo, who have two points less than the Rossoneri.
Athletico, however, appeared tired and drained after playing the Libertadores final, and an external success cannot be ruled out. Also on 55 points is Athletic MG, who should be able to avoid defeat against a Corinthians that has nothing left to say. America MG, which must not only beat the derelict Goianiense but also hope that someone in front slows down. The same applies to Fortaleza and Sao Paulo, both of which must win to continue believing in qualification.
As for the fight for the Sudamericana, Coritiba and Bragantino are still in contention. The former must beat Cuiabá and cross their fingers: if Bragantino gets the better of Fluminense, even success would be of little use.
