Bologna-Milan is a match of the first day of Serie A and is played on Monday at 20:45: lineups, predictions, TV and streaming.
The revolution wanted by US ownership has shaken the Milan world. The Rossoneri will present themselves to the starting ribbons of Serie A 2023-24 with countless novelties, both in terms of the management set-up and the squad. Gone are Maldini and Massara as well as that Tonali who seemed to have to retrace the very footsteps of the former Rossoneri captain, to whom owner Jerry Cardinale gave the sack earlier this summer.
The young midfielder, one of the symbols of winning the 19th Scudetto, now wears the Newcastle shirt and plays in the Premier League. From his painful sale, however, Milan made over 70 million euros, thanks to which it quickly became the “queen” of the market, at least in our latitudes. Among the bigs, in fact, no one has bought more than the Diavolo: many interesting players of international depth have arrived, such as Reijnders, Chukwueze, Musah, Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic and Okafor, who upset – it is not yet known whether for the better or for the worse, the field will do the talking – the team of Stefano Pioli, who instead has been confirmed on the bench. What is certain is that the Emilian coach now has more solutions than last year, thanks to which he will also be able to vary in tactical terms. The unknowns, in any case, are not few. And it is with a baggage of uncertainties that Milan approaches the first appointment of the season at the “Dall’Ara” in Bologna. The Rossoblù start again with Thiago Motta, the happiest note of last season, in which the club tried to raise the bar.
From the market, the Italobrazilian coach expected more – in the last few days Arnautovic also left in the direction of Inter, the young Fabbian took the opposite route – and he openly said so even to journalists. The Felsinei have already played an official match, beating Cesena 2-0 in the Emilia-Romagna derby of the Coppa Italia: Corazza and Zirkzee scored.
Bologna-Milan: the latest news on the lineups
Motta’s big doubt seems to be in the three-quarter, where new signing Ndoye, who was picked up from Basel, will undermine a not 100 percent Orsolini. Ferguson and Aebischer will also act in the three-quarter, supporting the only forward Zirkzee. Fabbian will start from the bench, in defense space for another new face, Beukema. Out will be Soumaoro and Barrow.
New season, new tactical outfit. Pioli will confirm the 4-3-3 already seen in the pre-season friendlies, with Leao and Pulisic on either side of Giroud in the offensive trident. In midfield it will be the turn of Loftus-Cheek, Reijnders and Krunic, at the back we rely on the Thiaw-Tomori pair.
The Prediction
The capital of Emilia has often been a conquest ground for the Rossoneri in the last two decades: Bologna has not beaten the Rossoneri in its stadium even since the 2001-02 season. Many unknowns hover over the Rossoneri, and it could not be otherwise after the many changes made in the summer, but a positive result for them seems likely, considering that the Felsinei are certainly no stronger than last year. Tantalising goal odds for those who don’t feel up to trusting Pioli’s team.
