Benevento-Sudtirol is a Serie B Week 27 match and is played on Wednesday at 20:30: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.
Sudtirol don’t give an inch. The South Tyrolean outfit, in its first year in Serie B, continues to surprise day after day and now wants to set no limits.
Four wins in a row in the first four days of 2023, then three draws, the last at home against Palermo. Pierpaolo Bisoli, leader of the Biancorossi, is aware that he is performing a real miracle if we consider that when he arrived in Bolzano last August he found a very complicated situation, with the Bolzano club last in the standings and with three consecutive defeats on his back. Ten days before the end of the regular season, his Sudtirol is fifth, in the playoff zone and only five points away from direct promotion. Whatever the outcome of the season may be, Tait and his teammates are proving to be a small but interesting team, which can take a lot of satisfaction in the coming years. Despite having a clearly stronger and more experienced squad, Benevento on the other hand surprisingly find themselves fighting for relegation.
A few days ago, the Sanniti sacked Fabio Cannavaro, replacing him with Roberto Stellone. After the debut defeat in the away match in Cagliari, the former Reggina coach is trying to put things right. Between Brescia and Ascoli, the Giallorossi brought home four points, fundamental to keep themselves out of the red zone. The trend will probably be like this until the end of the tournament, but the shake-up has at least been there.
Benevento-Sudtirol: latest line-up news
Stellone should switch to a four-man defence, with Tosca and Pastina in the centre. Up front Tello and Acampora will act behind Simy. The list of unavailable players is very long, Leverbe and Improta are disqualified.
On the other side, Bisoli rejoins Lunetta in midfield, while Casiraghi and Mazzocchi will be unavailable. Both Fiordilino and Carretta will be on the bench.
The Prediction
Nobody has scored fewer points than Benevento in home games, not even bottom-of-the-table Cosenza. Sudtirol, on the other hand, are travelling great on the road, only doing worse than big names such as Bari, Frosinone and Genoa. A positive result for the guests is conceivable in a match in which even the Giallorossi, on the upswing, could have their say.
