Armenia-Croatia is a match on the sixth day of Group D of Euro 2024 qualifiers and is played Monday at 6 p.m.: predictions.
Croatia can momentarily reclaim the top spot in Group D, moving up to 10 points, the same as Turkey. Zlatko Dalic’s selection had been busy in the Nations League in June, missing a few qualifying matches, but last Friday’s bombastic victory in Latvia (0-5) allowed them to make up ground immediately.
Modric and his teammates currently have 7 points, the result of a draw with Wales in the opener and two successes with Turkey and Latvia, but compared to the Turks – resting on this day – they have played one less game. Should everything go smoothly in Armenia and the prediction be fulfilled, it would be hooking. The other representative that could threaten the Vatreni, with Wales seemingly out of the picture for now, is the Armenian side, the surprise of this grouping, so far very balanced. The men led by Ukrainian Oleksandr Petrakov, after their initial defeat to Turkey, got the better of Wales and Latvia, beaten 2-4 and 2-1 respectively, and picked up a valuable draw in Turkey (1-1). Although the challenge with the “hated neighbors” smacks of a missed opportunity: in Eskisehir, Turkish Yildirim’s equalizer came two minutes from the end.
Petrakov, in any case, should maintain the unprejudiced set-up against Croatia as well, which for now is having the desired effects, despite a defense that has been conceding goals for 13 games in a row. There will be no changes in the Croatian eleven: Dalic will confirm the 4-2-3-1 with former Verona man Petkovic (double against Latvia) supported by Kramaric, Ivanusec and Perisic.

Croatia cannot relax yet. The competition in its group is still fierce and it will need another great performance to beat hostile Armenia and join Turkey in first place. The hosts will not only think about defending, a practice since Ukrainian Petrakov sits on the bench of the Caucasian selection. The total goals could thus be at least three, with the Croats likely to score two to four goals.
