Serbia-Bulgaria is a match on the tenth day of Group G of Euro 2024 qualifiers and is played on Sunday at 3 p.m.: predictions.
In Group G, after last Thursday’s results, Hungary secured a pass to Euro 2024 by avoiding defeat in the trip to Bulgaria. Now it is Serbia’s turn to fulfill the eve’s prediction: in fact, Vlahovic and his teammates are not yet arithmetically qualified for the next continental review. They have to watch their backs against Montenegro, which moved to -2 in the week thanks to a 2-0 success over Lithuania.
Dragan Stojkovic’s selection will have to at least draw in the Leskovac showdown with bottom-of-the-table Bulgaria, which has long been out of the running, to be certain of participating in the final phase of the German European Championship. Even a point, in short, would allow Serbia to celebrate and return to play in an event that has not seen it among the protagonists since the 2000 edition, when it was still called Yugoslavia (and, coincidentally, competed together with Montenegro, which was not yet an independent state). Indeed, in the event of finishing tied on points with their Montenegrin cousins, Serbia would prevail thanks to direct matches, having prevailed in both the first leg and the return leg (0-2 and 3-1).
The White Eagles last Wednesday prepared for the fixture in a friendly with Belgium, played behind closed doors in Brussels.
Stojkovic took advantage of this to experiment but his men, while holding their own against the Red Devils, were not very incisive under the goal and ended up losing 1-0. This result is not surprising given that Serbia has been alternating between a win and a loss for five matches now. Bulgaria, on the other hand, came from a 2-2 draw with Hungary, which allowed them to avoid their third knockout in a row. Great regrets for the selection led by Ilian Iliev, who had a full recovery snatched back from them, while still bringing home their third point in the qualifiers.
The prediction
Although having had mixed results in the last period, Serbia should have no problem getting the better of Bulgaria, which has barely collected a point on the road so far. Stojkovic’s men are favored in a match in which the guests could also score at least one goal.
