Sevilla-Almeria, La Liga: TV, streaming, bets, predictions

by Thorsten

Sevilla-Almeria is a match on the seventh day of La Liga and is played on Tuesday at 19:00: line-ups, predictions, TV and streaming.

Sevilla, after drawing against Lens on their Champions League debut, missed out on three points in the league last weekend, drawing 0-0 in Pamplona at Osasuna. Small steps forward for Jose Luis Mendilibar’s side, who had started the season with three defeats in a row, including a penalty shoot-out against Manchester City in the European Super Cup.

The Andalusians’ only success so far was at the Sanchez Pizjuan against newly-promoted Las Palmas, who were beaten by a goal from new signing Lukebakio. More was undoubtedly expected from a club that finished last year on a high, going on to win the seventh Europa League in its history. Instead, these early exits hark back to the last days of Lopetegui’s management, who a year ago was replaced by Jorge Sampaoli (who was then replaced by Mendilibar two months into the season). The standings are crying: Sevilla only have four points – with a game still to play – but the gap to fourth, for example, is already nine points.

Before the challenge with leading Barcelona, scheduled for next Friday, Jesus Navas and his companions will host Almeria, another Andalusian team.

A match to be won at all costs if the aim is to make up ground as soon as possible and avoid ending up like last year – Sevilla finished 12th, qualifying for the Champions League thanks to their Europa League success -. Vicente Moreno’s men arrive to play this regional derby as last in the standings, with only two points from six matches. However, a 2-2 draw against Valencia on the final day of the fixture, with the Biancorossi twice caught by Sergio Arribas, bodes well.

The prediction

Almeria are still without a win (2 draws and 4 defeats) and also have the second worst defence in La Liga after Granada. For Sevilla, this looks like the right opportunity to return to winning ways and climb a few places in the standings. Mendilibar’s men are likely to score at least a couple of goals.
