Granada-Villarreal, La Liga: tv, streaming, likely lineups, predictions

by Sabrina

Granada-Villarreal is a match valid for the 11th day of La Liga and is played on Monday at 9 p.m.: lineups, predictions, TV and streaming.

To better understand the moment of crisis Villarreal is going through, suffice it to say that after 10 days of La Liga, the Yellow Submarine is 15th in the standings and has only three points more than the newly promoted Granada, second-to-last and among the most struggling teams in the Spanish top league.

The change in technical guidance – former Real Valladolid Pacheta last September took over from the exonerated Setien – has not had the desired effects. The yellows continue to postpone the appointment with the three points (the last victory dates back to a month and a half ago, if we exclude the one obtained in the Europa League with Rennes) and in the last five days Gerard Moreno and his teammates have only garnered three points, the result of three draws with Rayo Vallecano, Getafe and Alaves. This is an insufficient performance for a club that in recent years has always performed well not only in Spain but also in Europe, beginning, however, its downward parabola starting with the farewell of Unai Emery, who moved to Aston Villa during the last championship. The switch to a three-man defense made by the new coach so far has not served to improve performance in the non-possession phase, with Villarreal recording only one clean sheet since August: changes are expected in Granada.

The Andalusians are coming off a defeat in Pamplona to Osasuna (2-0) that broke a run of three consecutive draws, including one with Barcelona (2-2). The red and whites came straight back down to earth after stopping the Blaugrana: for them, the winless streak continues – they haven’t won since August – and for coach Paco Lopez, a bad air is starting to blow.

The Prediction

Both Granada and Villarreal are not going through a good period and, more importantly, have to deal with numerous absences. For the Yellow Submarine it could be a chance to return to winning ways after more than a month, but in their last two home matches the Andalusians have stopped Betis and Barcelona. Best to go for goals: both teams should score at least one.

The probable formations of Granada-Villarreal

  • GRANADA (4-2-3-1): André; Ricard, Ignasi Miquel, Torrente, Neva; Sergio Ruiz, Villar; Melendo, Bryan Zaragoza, Álvaro Fernandez; Puertas.
  • VILLARREAL (4-3-1-2): Jörgensen; Femenía, Albiol, Mandi, Alberto Moreno; Dani Parejo, Capoue, Comesaña; Baena; Gerard Moreno, Sorloth.
