Getafe-Valencia is a match from the 22nd day of La Liga and is played on Monday at 21:00: odds, predictions, TV and streaming
The 22nd day of La Liga concludes with a match for the hard of hearts. Getafe and Valencia are in the middle of the relegation zone and both need the three points to get out of the crisis they have been in for several weeks.
In the fight for relegation, only bottom-of-the-table Elche seem to be doomed, but for the other two places anything can happen, as there are seven teams within five points of each other from 13th to last place. Valencia have one point more than Getafe, but the last positive result for the Bats was a month ago, when Gennaro Gattuso was still on the bench. The Italian coach ended his Iberian adventure prematurely and in the last few games the team has been led by Voro, the club’s man of trust, who had already taken over in the past after being relieved of his duties. After the fourth consecutive defeat, the club enlisted Ruben Baraja, who played at Mestalla for ten years, from 2000 to 2010, and began coaching in Valencia’s youth academy.
The former midfielder will have a very difficult task: to take the Blanquinegres away from the shallows of the lower league table and to re-motivate a group built for other, certainly more ambitious goals. The first objective is to take points away from the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, against a Getafe side that comes from two good draws against Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid, respectively the fourth and sixth best in La Liga. The Azulones’ last success dates back to 30 December and in the new year the team coached by Quique Sanchez Flores is one of the few teams yet to win.
The Prediction
Baraja, called upon to straighten out a difficult situation, will have to make amends as soon as possible: Valencia have so far only scored eight goals on the road and in the match against Getafe they will have to do without Edinson Cavani, one of the few happy notes of this season for the Bianconeri. It will be a very tense and contracted match, with less than three goals in total, in which the hosts should avoid defeat. A draw cannot be ruled out.
