Cadiz-Almeria is a match on the 15th day of La Liga and is played on Friday at 7:15pm: odds, predictions, TV and streaming.
Cadiz’s objective is not only to bring home another salvation, but to try to do so in a less dramatic way than last year, when they were only able to be certain of continuing in La Liga on the final day, after a gruelling long-distance duel with Granada, who eventually came out on top. For the Submarino Amarillo, however, it cannot be said that the first part of the 2022-23 season was full of satisfaction. Far from it.
The position in the standings after the first fourteen matches, in fact, speaks volumes about the difficulties that the men led by Sergio are encountering again this year. The Andalusians are penultimate, with barely eleven points, the result of only two wins and five draws. Only tail-end Elche has done worse, except in terms of goals scored: the negative record, in that case, belongs to Cadiz, who have scored only nine goals and have to deal with the worst attack in the tournament. Before the stoppage time, the Yellowoblù had surrendered 2-1 to Real Madrid and a few days later they were eliminated from the Copa del Rey, after losing 3-2 to lowly Real Union.
Cadice, what a victory in friendly matches
The morale of the Cadiz fans was boosted by prestigious friendly victories – to be taken with a grain of salt – against the likes of Manchester United and Roma, who were beaten 4-2 and 3-0 respectively.
Sergio and his side also created a few problems for Lopetegui’s Wolverhampton, who beat them a couple of weeks ago in a pyrotechnic 4-3 victory. Cadiz will in any case have to confirm this progress in their direct clash with Almeria, who in turn had the satisfaction of beating Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio 2-0. Rubi’s Biancorossi have a few more points in the standings – they are 14th on 16 – thanks to an outstanding home performance, the fifth best in La Liga so far.
The Prediction
In the first part of the season we saw a two-faced Almeria: powerful at home and catastrophic away, where they picked up just one point. This strange trend could continue, especially in light of Cadiz’s excellent performance in friendlies. A draw, then, would not be a surprise.
