Barcelona-Elche is a match from the sixth day of the Spanish La Liga: here’s where to watch it, the probable formations and the prediction
BARCELONA – ELCHE | Saturday 16:15
On paper the task is simple for Barcelona, who despite coming into the match against Elche after the Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich, must and can make a full haul against a team that after last night’s Cadiz victory is last in the table. In spite of the thrashing against Nagelsmann, Xavi’s Catalans at least created several chances to go ahead in the first half, and paid not only for Neuer’s extraordinary evening, who was outstanding against Gavi, but also for Lewandowski’s wet dust, who missed in front of his former team-mate. The Pole, however, forgives once, then goes back to doing his job.
There is no chance of seeing an outcome other than a victory for the home team. Xavi said there might be a few line-up changes, but above all he made it clear that not everyone who will take the field will have to give their all to stay glued to Real Madrid. And, at least for one night while waiting for tomorrow’s challenge from Ancelotti’s men, to go to the top of the La Liga standings. In short, the conditions are there to witness what could be a goleada.
The Prediction
A match of at least three goals in total with Barcelona eventually winning the game. A match that could break even as early as the first half in favour of the Xavi-led troop, of course. Watch out, as always, for a goal from Lewandowski, eager to put the black night in Munich behind him.
