Wolverhampton-Burnley, Premier League: odds, predictions.

by Lea

Wolverhampton-Burnley is a match for the 15th day of the Premier League and is played on Tuesday at 8:30pm: TV, predictions.

The deadly one-two scored by Saka and Odegaard in the first quarter of an hour of play Saturday cut Wolverhampton’s legs off in their challenge with Arsenal, the current league leaders. Gary O’Neil’s team did what it could to avoid cashing in on the third goal, resisting the Gunners’ forcing and reopening the game with 4 minutes to go through Brazilian Cunha but from the English capital returned once again with no points in their pockets (2-1).

Second defeat in a row after the one incurred with Fulham (also in London) seven days earlier, the third in the last three days. The Black and Gold’s only joy since November, in short, has been the victory in the pre-stop round with Tottenham, which came just over a month after the one against Guardiola and Haaland’s Manchester City. A roster that prevents them from returning to the left side of the standings: the Wolves for now have to be content with 13th place, although – thanks to Everton’s disqualification – the relegation zone remains far away (-8 points). In the first of the two midweek previews Wolverhampton returns to play at Molineux – where it has not lost since September – in a sort of direct clash with newly promoted Burnley.

The Clarets over the last weekend broke the long losing streak that was rattling Vincent Kompany’s bench by taking a direct competitor like Sheffield United down 5-0 at Turf Moor – their first home win of the season – and moving out of last place. The road to salvation, however, still remains a long one, although the fourth-last (Luton) is only +2.

The prediction

The goleada at Sheffield United will certainly have helped raise the self-esteem levels of Amdouni and his teammates, who will go to Wolverhampton with belligerent intentions. Between home walls, however, Wolves are a tough nut to crack and in the last period have taken important scalps such as those of City and Tottenham. Hosts favored in a match in which Burnley should also be able to find the way to goal.
