West Ham-Wolverhampton is a match valid for the ninth day of the Premier League and is played on Saturday at 18:30: predictions, TV, streaming.
WEST HAM – WOLVERHAMPTON
The target for both is Europe, but judging by the current standings you wouldn’t think so. West Ham and Wolverhampton are currently navigating in dangerous areas, those of the low rankings, due to a start of the season in which something went wrong. It is still possible to go back up, the Premier League has only started seven days ago, but the risk of remaining too far from the so-called noble zones is high. The poor performance of the Hammers is more surprising: this must be the season of the quality leap for the team coached by David Moyes, which has been stable in the top seven of the league for two years now and has just returned from a European semi-final. The club is one of those that invested the most in the summer, but the hoped-for results are still slow in coming.
So far it has been a two-faced West Ham: dominant in the Conference League – four wins in as many games, albeit against decidedly easy opponents – disappointing in the Premier League, where they have collected just four points and scored barely three goals. Before the break, the Londoners picked up another defeat, the second in a row, at home to Everton. Wolverhampton, who a fortnight ago failed to hold off the overpowering attack of reigning champions Manchester City, overwhelmed at Molineux with an unbeatable 0-3. Moutinho and his team-mates have the same problem as their next opponents when it comes to scoring: with three goals to their credit they are the team with the worst attack in the tournament right alongside the Hammers.
The Prediction
We do not expect a high-scoring contest, given the offensive numbers of both. It will probably be largely locked, in which both West Ham and Wolverhampton will try to avoid defeat after an all too limp start. The Hammers, on the whole, have more quality and, in our opinion, start as slight favourites.
