West Ham-Brentford, Premier League: odds, predictions.

by Thorsten

West Ham-Brentford is a match of the 26th day of the Premier League and is played on Monday at 9pm: live TV, probable formations, predictions.

So far, West Ham’s is a 2024 to forget. David Moyes’ team has yet to win a game in the new year, including cups, and is coming off three ugly defeats in a row (Manchester United, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest). A negative streak in which the Hammers have cashed in as many as 11 total goals without scoring any. The Scottish coach appeared visibly worried during the last press conference, but despite the bad moment, winning a European spot is still possible.

West Ham, in fact, despite slipping to 10th place is just three lengths away from seventh, which at the end of the season could mean Conference League (a competition the Londoners won last year). Far away, on the other hand, fourth and fifth places are now unreachable. In any case, a reaction is needed as soon as possible, and the derby with Brentford seems like the right opportunity to start putting hay in the hay again. The Bees have had to deal with a tough schedule the last two days. After being blown away by Liverpool at their own stadium (1-4), they performed well at Etihad Stadium against European and English champions Manchester City in last Wednesday’s recovery despite losing 1-0.

Thomas Frank’s men have changed their faces with the return of striker Toney from a lengthy disqualification for soccer betting, remain far from the red zone but still cannot afford to relax.

Brentford, with a match to make up, is in fact 15th and only five points ahead of third-last Luton Town. The Danish coach could confirm the eleven that took the field with City but problems in defense remain: in addition to Pinnock, Hickey, Henry, Schade, Mbeumo and Dasilva will also be out.

The Prediction

Brentford since returning to the top flight has been a real black beast for West Ham: 5 wins in as many games for the Bees, who lost to the Hammers onlyamenye in the last edition of the FA Cup. Both are in need of points today, but given the few guarantees that Moyes’ men, on paper superior to the red and whites, give at the moment, we prefer not to overbalance on the result. The goals, on the other hand, should not be lacking: expected at least one on each side.

The probable lineups of West Ham-Brentford

WEST HAM (4-2-3-1): Areola; Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson Palmieri; Soucek, Alvarez; Paquetà, Ward-Prowse, Kudus; Bowen.
BRENTFORD (3-5-2): Flekken; Jorgensen, Ajer, Mee; Roerslev, Onyeka, Norgaard, Janelt, Reguilon; Toney, Maupay.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
