weekend predictions (3-4 September) | Serie A and foreign leagues

by Sabrina

Weekend predictions: Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Premier League on the pitch.

A crowded calendar with a busy two days of matches in Europe’s major leagues, with almost all of Europe’s ‘bigs’ moving up to Saturday as the group stage of the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League begins next week. A group stage that is as concentrated as ever because it will end as early as November, before the break for the World Cup in Qatar.

In Serie A in particular there will be a weekend full of top-level matches: the Milan-Inter derby, a challenge of great tradition and rivalry like Fiorentina-Juventus and Lazio-Napoli.

Derby time also in the Premier League where Liverpool will challenge Everton, the big match will be played instead on Sunday between Manchester United (on the upswing after their bad start) and Arsenal. An easy game on paper for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham against Fulham.

The other matches

Of the other three-goal matches, look out for Union Berlin-Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen-Freiburg in the Bundesliga, while Eintracht Frankfurt-Leipzig could offer at least one goal per team. It will be a weekend full of big matches in La Liga as well, with Sevilla-Barcelona, but Real Madrid-Real Betis also promising entertainment.
