Vavassori-Sinner, Atp Miami: schedule, live TV, streaming, predictions

Vavassori-Sinner is a match valid for the second round of the Atp Masters 1000 tournament in Miami: schedule, news, predictions, live TV and streaming.

The Miami Masters 1000, for Jannik Sinner, will begin under the banner of the … tricolor. In every sense, since his first opponent in the Florida tournament is an Italian, world number 148 Andrea Vavassori. Immediately a derby, then, for the world number three, second favorite in the seeding after his great rival Carlos Alcaraz, who beat him a week ago in Indian Wells, ending his long winning streak.

And yet the South Tyrolean had gotten off to a great start in the first set, leaving only one game to the Murcian. In the second set, however, Alcaraz suddenly rose in level and his variations put the Italian in trouble, who was also struggling with elbow discomfort. In the end, Sinner surrendered in three sets, taking his first defeat since last November. In Miami there is a final to defend, the one he lost last year to Daniil Medvedev, which is why it will be necessary to go all the way. His path begins with the Turin-based tennis player, who in addition to playing doubles paired with Simone Bolelli – with excellent results, such as the final at the last Australian Open – often figures well in singles as well. Starting from the qualifiers, Vavassori prevailed over Argentine Pedro Cachin in the first round, folding him with a clear 6-2 6-2. There is no previous record with Sinner, but whenever he faces other Italian players the San Candido native does not leave even crumbs. Eleven wins out of eleven for the Melbourne 2024 champion against his countrymen.

Vavassori-Sinner: the prediction

The weapon that Vavassori could use to create some headaches for Sinner is the serve&volley. The Turinese is in fact very good at the net, also thanks to the experience accumulated in doubles. With the South Tyrolean, however, he doesn’t seem to stand a chance: Sinner is likely to close it out in two sets and less than 19 games overall.
