Tottenham-Liverpool, Premier League: odds, predictions

by Mark

Tottenham-Liverpool is a match valid for the fifteenth day of the Premier League and is played on Sunday at 17:30: predictions, TV, streaming.

In Provence suffered a lot last Wednesday. But in the end Antonio Conte’s Tottenham managed to finish first in their group and enter the round of 16 of the Champions League as the top seed. The match against Marseille was another nail-biter – Danish midfielder Hojbjerg scored the 2-1 goal in the fifth minute of added time – like the league match against Bournemouth, which ended 2-3 for Spurs. With tooth and nail, the Londoners are therefore coming out of a difficult period, characterised by numerous absences and two defeats in a row against Manchester United and Newcastle. But Tottenham is there, clinging to its veterans and remains firmly in the top four. And it can still get back into the title race.

For the first time in a long time Spurs will face Liverpool boasting a better league position. The Reds are the Premier League’s biggest disappointment at the moment, and after twelve matches they are ninth and currently out of the running to win the league. They are ten points behind Tottenham and the summit is even further away after Manchester City’s success against Fulham. Remaining will be very complicated for Jurgen Klopp and his men, who are called upon to at least get closer to the Champions League zone. Liverpool have just inflicted the first defeat of the season on Napoli – irrelevant for the standings – but in the Premier League they are coming off two absurd defeats against Leeds and Nottingham Forest.

The Prediction

Son’s injury is devastating news for Conte, who will have to do without another staple of his team. In short, it cannot be ruled out that Liverpool – flawless in their big matches this year – can at least avoid defeat in a potentially entertaining match with at least three goals in total.

The likely Tottenham-Liverpool line-ups

  • TOTTENHAM (3-5-2): Lloris; Dier, Lenglet, Davies; Emerson Royal, Bissouma, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Perisic; Moura, Kane.
  • LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konaté, van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara; Salah, Firmino, Darwin Nunez.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-2
