Sunday, June 2 predictions: Serie A, Serie B and other leagues

by Thorsten

Sunday June 2 predictions: there is the last match of the Serie A championship and the return of the Serie B playoff final between Venezia and Cremonese.

This Sunday the last match of the 2023/2024 Serie A championship will be played, the rematch between Atalanta and Fiorentina. It is a match that Fiorentina would have gladly avoided playing, especially after the drubbing of the defeat in the Conference League final against Olympiacos. The Viola have no more goals while Atalanta in case of a win could overtake Juventus and finish the championship in third place: not bad as icing on the cake of winning the Europa League.

There is much more at stake in the Serie B playoff final between Venezia and Cremonese: the hosts after the first leg draw have two out of three results at their disposal to celebrate promotion to Serie A. In the three games played so far in the playoffs, Venezia has been solid with three goals scored and one conceded. Moreover, the Laggunarians have lost only once at home in this 2024. Another balanced but more eventful match than the one at the “Zini” is to be expected, and one that could unlock in the second half.
