Sunday, Aug. 4 predictions: Dutch Super Cup, Eliteserien and Premiership

by Sabrina

Saturday, Aug. 3 predictions, in the Netherlands PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord are competing for the Super Cup but play also starts again in Scotland and Croatia.

On the first Sunday of August, the spotlight is on the Netherlands, where the first trophy of the season, the “Johan Cruijff Schaal,” the equivalent of our Super Cup, is being awarded. Contending for it will be the champions of the last Eredivisie, PSV Eindhoven, and Feyenoord, which had to settle for lifting the domestic cup last season. All the conditions are there to see a balanced match, although compared to Feyenoord, PSV has changed less and will have the advantage of playing in front of their own fans, where in the last championship they did not collect a single defeat.

Between the leagues opening this weekend are the Croatian and Scottish leagues. Celtic will not make a mistake with Kilmarnock, and Gennaro Gattuso’s Hajduk Split, engaged against Slaven Belupo, should also debut with a win.The team coached by the former AC Milan midfielder wants to remain undefeated after their two Conference League matches (one win and one loss) with HB Torshavn, which gave them a pass to the third preliminary round. In Denmark, Copenhagen will most likely come out on top against Randers, getting their fifth win in a row between Superligaen and Conference League.

Predictions on the other matches

In the Austrian league we will immediately witness a possible summit clash between Rapid Vienna and defending champions Sturm Graz, a match in which there should be no shortage of goals. Potentially entertaining and therefore prolific match also between Darmstadt and Fortuna Dusseldorf in Zweite Liga, the German cadet league.

In the Norwegian Eliteserien, Sarpsborg and Sandefjord are likely to score at least one goal on each side, and for those on the hunt for goals, the clash between Young Boys and Zurich in the Swiss league can also be considered. There will also be no shortage of excitement in the Superligaen match Silkeborg-Viborg.
