Southampton-Leeds, Premier League: TV, formations, predictions

by Mike

For Hasenhuttl’s hosts the objective is one and only: to immediately put behind them the heavy defeat in the result – and not only – that came in their league debut against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham. Yet Southamptonn had managed to take the lead against Spurs, but then the agonistic nastiness of the team coached by the Apulian coach, fell on the visiting troop. In the week they certainly analysed the mistakes they had made, in order to look for the first victory in their championship against Leeds, who got off to a great start.

The Whites, as said, put the first three points at home: a home win against Wolves and a very positive start to the season. Of course, the feeling, without fear of contradiction, is that it will be very difficult to get away unscathed from St. Mary’s Stadium: a boiling hot bed of Southampton’s ground, ready to drag the team into this second game of the championship.

The Prediction

The feeling is that the hosts can take their first win in this championship. A match which, however, from what was also seen on the first day, should give at least three goals in total. But Southampton, over Leeds, look a clear favourite for the final victory.

The likely Southampton-Leeds line-up

SOUTHAMPTON (5-3-2): Bazunu; Walker, Valery, Bednarek, Salisu, Djenepo; Ward-Prowse, Lavia, Romeu; Aribo, Armstrong.
LEEDS (4-2-3-1): Meslier; Kristensen, Koch, Llorente, Strujk; Roca, Adama; Aaronson, Rodrigo, Harrison; Bamford.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 2-1
