Southampton-Everton, Premier League: TV, formations, predictions

Southampton-Everton is a match for the ninth day of the Premier League: here are the likely formations, where to watch it on TV and the prediction

SOUTHAMPTON – EVERTON | Saturday 4pm

Seven points from seven matches. Southampton and Everton are on identical paths, although two teams who finished the first half of the season in very different ways come into this match after the break: the hosts, after their resounding victory over Chelsea, have picked up two defeats against Wolves and Aston Villa. Lampard’s guests, on the other hand, come from six useful results in a row between league and cup and beat West Ham. There is little comment on who is in the best form at the moment.

Of course, there is a statistic to consider: in the last two home fixtures, Southampton have beaten the Liverpool blues on both occasions: two to nil in both 2020 and 2022. Could it happen again? Well, it seems difficult to think that Gerrard’s team could break the positive streak right now. It seems far more likely that, at best, Everton are the favoured team.

The Prediction

As we told you earlier, we would rule out a win for the hosts. Just as, in any case, it is difficult for Everton to take the entire stake. Yes, to the exclusion we would opt for a draw – but look out for an away win – with both teams scoring.

The likely Southampton-Everton line-ups

  • SOUTHAMPTON (4-2-3-1): Bezunu; Walker-Peters, Bella-Kotchap, Salisu, Perraud; Ward-Prowse, Diallo; Djenepo,Elyounoussi, Armstrong; Adams.
  • EVERTON (4-3-3): Begovic; Patterson, Coady, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Onana, Gueye, Iwobi; Gray, Maupay, Gordon.

POSSIBLE RESULT: 1-1
