Sinner, there’s the deal: fans have been waiting for nothing more

by Mark

Jannik Sinner, that’s great news: fans gloat.

There is no doubt that Italian tennis is having the best time ever. And if it is true, as they say, that the iron should be struck while it is hot, you will agree with us that the news we are about to bring you definitely fits the bill. So much so that, we are sure, blue fans will be gloating like never before.

In the past few hours, in fact, the agreement that the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation’s television channel, namely SuperTennis TV, has made with the International Tennis Federation and the Billie Jean King Cup Limited was made official. This is a four-year agreement by which the channel has secured, hear hear, exclusive rights to two competitions of international resonance.

We are talking, as many have probably guessed, about the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup, the two team competitions that keep thousands and thousands of tennis fans with their eyes glued to the small screen each year. All that remains is to figure out, at this point, what this deal actually involves and what surprise is in store for Italian fans.

Not just Sinner: four years of all things tennis

The news is that from next year and until 2028, all matches of the two cups will be broadcast free-to-air and exclusively on the Federation channel. Streaming will also be by Fitp TV, so matches will also be aired on SuperTenniX.

In the case of the Billie Jean King Cup, this is admittedly a reconfirmation, considering that the channel had previously acquired the rights to broadcast the women’s competitions. That of the Davis Cup on SuperTennis is, on the other hand, a very welcome return, a gift with a capital “R” that will make happy, that’s for sure, the fans of Jannik Sinner, Matteo Berrettini, Lorenzo Musetti and so on. It will be priceless, in fact, the certainty of being able to watch the matches of the blue battalion without having to subscribe to pay TV or streaming platforms.

The four-year agreement then includes, as if that were not enough, the acquisition of the rights to the top youth events. The reference is to the Junior Davis Cup to the Junior Billie Jean King Cup, but also to Wheelchair and Beach tennis events. In short, the programming schedule of the Federation channel will be enriched with new content, ensuring an increasingly wide and varied offer.
